Born in Bautzen, she gained initial stage experience early on at the Deutsch-Sorbisches Volkstheater, and from 1998 to 2002 was a member of the opera choir studio at the Semperoper Dresden, where she was part of numerous productions. She simultaneously began her singing studies at the Dresden College of Music, before undertaking a postgraduate course in opera singing and passing her final exam. She worked with renowned conductors including Sir Colin Davis und Giuseppe Sinopoli. Guest performances saw Jeannette Oswald take to the stages of the Semperoper, the Komische Oper Berlin and the Philharmonie Essen, as well as to Zurich and Munich. She has worked at the Dresden State Operetta since 2002, during which time she has played roles such as Mi (The Land of Smiles), Rosemarie (Die Herzogin von Chicago) (The Duchess of Chicago), Bronislawa (Der Bettelstudent) (The Beggar Student), Stasi (Die Csárdásfürstin) (The Gypsy Princess), Hannchen (The Cousin from Nowehere), Sora (Gasparone, Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz), Juliette (Der Graf von Luxemburg) (The Count of Luxembourg), Mascha (Der Zarewitsch)) (The Tsarevich), Hodel (Anatevka), Eliza (My Fair Lady) and Brenda (Catch Me If You Can).
