Opera

The third pillar of the State Operetta's repertoire is opera, more specifically light opera. With works such as 'Zar & Zimmermann' (1997) and 'Martha' (1999), the genre has firmly established itself in the theatre's programme. These were followed by 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' (2004), 'Der Wildschütz' ("The Poacher") (2005) and 'The Bartered Bride' (2014).
Axel Köhler's adaptation of 'The Magic Flute' has been a permanent fixture at the State Operetta since 2008 - a magical and fantastical production for the whole family.
