Few other composers were more at home in the cafés, revue theatres or cinemas of 1920s Berlin than Mischa Spoliansky. His songs became film hits and popular tunes, provided dance enthusiasts with all kinds of syncopated jazz rhythms, and lovers with crooning melodies. Forced to flee Germany during the Nazi era, Spoliansky forged a second career in England as a film-score composer - even writing music for a Hitchcock thriller. It will definitely be a case of 'Mir ist so nach dir' ("I'm so in the mood for you") when Laila Salome Fischer and Gero Wendorff, accompanied by a band, trace back Spoliansky's life through acting and song in a variety-show atmosphere.
